As the leader of a peer group on community safety, I wanted to say thanks for your disaster preparedness page. With the summer storm season starting, we’re working to put together some workshops and handy reference guides on facing natural disasters. My parents down in NJ had their house flooded and destroyed during Hurricane Sandy, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. (Fortunately, they were physically ok, though we were all extremely sad to have lost some family heirlooms.) I think the worst part was how off-guard they were caught. We want to help families in the area fare better in the event of a natural disaster. I have a couple of retirees on our team. They used to be super nervous around computers, but now they’re getting more comfortable… and excited about everything they’ve found! I wanted to pass along some other references they found in case you were interested since I didn’t see them on your page:
